Jeff Jarvis is taking it one step further and is planning on giving an "UnKeynote"
I’ll throw out some questions/goals and have the people in the room decide on the agenda and then enable them to share what they know — which is more than I know — as I do what I do at unconferences: I play Oprah. The purpose of a keynote speech is to set the underlying tone and summarize the core message or most important revelation of the event. I can see having a traditional keynote and then moving into unconference mode, but how can you get everyone on the right page to begin with if you just open it up from the start?
