Last night my husband and I are walking our new Brittney Spaniel named Roxy. Since we've only had her 24 hours at this point, we are not yet accomplished dog owners. That means we forgot the plastic baggy.
The neighborhood we live in is diverse: OK house, yucky house, nice house, crack house - you know how it goes. Does Roxy choose to eliminate on the crack house weedlot? Oh, no. The beautifully manicured lawn with the children's toys scattered about.
The owners weren't home. We could have walked away. Instead my husband ran home and got a baggy, while I waited in case the family came home.
Folks - that is what I call character. Today's news is also about character (and sh*t):
Crooks and Liars quotes : "...there are four compelling reasons against a preventive air attack on Iranian nuclear facilities:" Only four! I have five on each hand.
Crooks and Liars: "...there's reason to believe the director of central intelligence was not acting on principle." You mean there might be a political motive behind this? Nooooo.
Hugh Hewitt: "Sources close to the White House said Monday that Fox anchor Tony Snow is likely to accept the job as White House press secretary, succeeding Scott McClellan." You'd think a man battling colon cancer would have more than his career on his mind.
From John Battelle's Searchblog and Time Online: "Beijing has declared war on the wave of "unhealthy" internet content it says is engulfing the nation’s cyberspace, amid fears China's young are being corrupted en masse by an influx of online sex and violence." What will Chinese geeks do with their spare time instead?
Huffington Post: "The Vatican is studying whether condoms can be condoned to help stem the tide of AIDS, but it has given no indication that a pronouncement is expected, officials said Tuesday." The church might be thinking of moving into the 20th century?
