Today through Sunday is Spring Barrel Tasting in the Yakima Valley.  80-odd wineries open their doors with tasting of last year's vintage as well as their bottled wine.  Guess where I will be?  I'll post updates all weekend, along with scintillating news like this:

Captain's Quarters -Washington Post's Jim VandeHei had a tizzy until a TV on Airforce One was changed from Fox to CNN.  "It's interesting to see what matters mainstream media reporters consider as "serious". Next time his family loses the remote at home, we hope to see front-page coverage at the Post."  In my house I control the remote - so there!

Consumerist:  "Barclay's Photo employees are a pile of snivelling scum bucket sleazebags not fit to clean the sluice gate of a pig factory killing floor."  So you won't be shopping there again?

Daily Kos:  "... those under intense scrutiny by the FBI are current and former lawmakers on Defense and Intelligence comittees--including one person who now holds a powerful intelligence post."  Oooh, another sex scandal, but this time involving the Republicans.  When does the blue dress and tacky beret appear?

Gaping Void: "What exactly is the use of blogging if you have no idea often who it is you are talking to? In other words - are they bright? Are thay sane? Are they knowledgable about the things they purport to be?"  I agree with Hugh - your readership will only rise to the level of the blog.  Which is why so many witty, erudite, gorgeous people are reading this.

Gawker:  "The game is over for Kaavya Viswanathan: Publisher Little, Brown has decided to pull the ... novel from bookstore shelves after she admitted to all but plagiarizing the work of Megan McCafferty."  So far Harvard doesn't mind having the little plagiarist in their midst.
