But, guess what, what happens when you do that is … you get the same damned people over and over again.
To which I suggest, maybe there are too many conferences. Or maybe the conferences aren't about the A-Listers who go there, but about the other people, the non-bloggers and the newbies.
The one and only blog conference I've gone to was the 2005 Blog Business Summit. I went because it was three blocks from home in Seattle. I didn't start out a blogger, but after meeting Halley Suitt (terrifically friendly), Buzz Bruggeman (he knows everyone), Biz Stone (geeky cute), Chris Pirillo (hyper), and Mr. Scoble himself (cute but geeky), I went straight home and started blogging.
