Buzz Machine: The Guardian Blogs the Morning Meeting - Meh, Not So Much

Here is a newspaper that is trying to get blogging.  Buzz Machine reports that he Guardian has an open meeting every morning, open to the newsroom, to discuss the good (and bad) from the morning's cover and what the next day's top stories will be.  And then an editor blogs about the meeting.  I was less than impressed because there was no insight into why one story was chosen over another.  I don't need to see details, but a general feeling would be nice. 

On the other hand, the Spokesman Review, actually gives us some insight into the news decisions they make.  I do agree when Buzz Machine says:
Apart from not writing about unverified stories or scoops, I see no reason why news meetings everywhere cannot be opened up and blogged.
