Minimum Wage Hurts, Rather than Helps, the Most Vulnerable
John Bambeneck over at Blog Critics has a thoughtful article about minimum wage.  Washington has the highest in the country and it is tied to an artificial rate so that it rises every year.

As John says, this hurts businesses, but it also hurts the lowest end of the employment scale.  As minimum wages go up, employers expect more and more from their employees.  Those who have  difficult time finding and keeping employment because of lack of education or various social problems, are the ones that don't get hired.

Thus, the minimum wage actually hurts those that it purports to help.  I actually did a series of in-depth articles about this over at MicroEnterpriseJournal, but you have to pay to see them.
