News Floozy: FBI Congressional Searches OK, Apple Bloggers Win, Blogger Beauty Contest, Jesse MacBeth

For those in the U.S. - happy Memorial Day weekend, the official start of summer. No picnics today at least - it is rainy and cold. Instead I'm toasting my footies on the computer and bringing you the latest talk:

Captain's Quarters: "House Speaker Denny Hastert, having presumably checked his In box and re-read the Constitution, now agrees that the FBI can conduct searches of Congressional offices..." Strangely enough, Bush showed some leadership in enforcing a 'cooling-off' period that allowed the sides to climb down off of their high horses.

Kos quoting the judge's ruling in the Apple blogger case: "We can think of no workable test or principle that would distinguish 'legitimate' from 'illegitimate' news. Any attempt by courts to draw such a distinction would imperil a fundamental purpose of the First Amendment..." California Appeals Court, but other states can look to it as a precedent.

Google Blogoscoped: "China has a beauty contest for female bloggers." Bill Belew are you listening?

Michelle Malkin - if you've been following the Jesse MacBeth fiasco, it gets even funnier - he's forged discharge papers!
