While the majority of A-List blogs are "generalists", covering a wide range of topics within their blogs, the political bloggers usually stay on track. Is this a good thing? Depends.
I'd shudder to find out what music Michelle Malkin listens to (Souza marches interspersed with Halloween sound effects), but overall political bloggers including posts about music isn't that jarring for me. Since blogs reflect the personality of the blogger why not go off topic occasionally and talk about the music you enjoy?

It's your blog, why can't you write what you want to? Personally, I think it adds a bit of flavor to the blog and gives your readers a hint to the real you :)
