The Story of Amber and Hope
Last night I finished typing up some notes for a pharmacy student.  Most of the notes were about cancer drugs, their side effects especially.  Depressing because I'm not sure how strong I would be if I had cancer.  Could I really go through that treatment without giving up?  I have no idea.  Most of the people I've known with cancer died within a few months of diagnosis.  One, however, was actually in hospice but managed to survive Hodgin's Lymphoma.

Then I read this story posted at Hugh Hewitt's blog about two teenage girls who took their fatal illnesses with sublime grace, using it to help hundred of other cancer victims.  These two lines made me cry:

I have always been amazed that children with cancer can be tough, serene, uplifting, and cheerful.

When faced with death, Amber gleamed, Hope giggled, and both of them gave so much.
