Truth? Armando is his real name.
As for outing - here is how I found him - 2 minutes tops
Google "Armando Kos". I find this link description for an NPR broadcast: "Armando Llorens is an attorney who blogs for Daily Kos."
Google "Armando Llorens Kos". The very first link is to his Wikipedia entry (deleted since the dustup, but here is the cached Google page). The Google description (which appears in the search) says:"Armando Lloréns-Sar is a progressive online writer or blogger that is best known for his contributions to the website Daily Kos (where he writes as Armando) ..."
The cached page reveals: "Armando Lloréns-Sar is a progressive online writer or blogger that is best known for his contributions to the website Daily Kos (where he writes as Armando) and his commentary on a wide variety of media programs, including the national radio program "The Majority Report." Llorens-Sar is also a partner in the corporate law firm McConnell-Valdés and the co-founder of the political blogging website."
On that cached page are links to his bio at McConnell-Valdes and his blog Swords Crossed.
His bio at Swords Cross says "Armando is a well known diarist at DailyKos and frontpage alumni who continues to contribute to the front page of DailyKos. His front page duty there spanned the year Markos Moulitsas travelled much doing research for his now published book, “Crashing The Gates”.
It also says "Armando is a Cuban-American lawyer living in Puerto Rico"
If you go to the Majority Report link you find: "Armando Llorens, attorney and guest-blogger at The Daily Kos."
So the moral of the story is - if you want to remain anonymous on a blog:
- Don't use your real name
- Don't create a Wiki entry about yourself (NOTE: Sources indicate that Armando may not have written the Wiki about himself - but someone who knew him well obviously did. Someone who knew all of his blog affiliations.)
- Don't appear on radio (NPR, Majority Report) using your real name and affiliations

Diane, appreciate the trackback link to my blog post on this issue.
I didn't even know NRO was the source in question. I figured that out from a couple of resposes to Armando's pity party post, then checked.
I wasn't sure if Armando himself or Kos or whom had created his Wiki bio, but given the size of Armando's ego, it doesn't surprise me he did this himself.
One other thing. It shows from diarists being banned from Kos, and diaries being deleted (two of mine, I'm giong to float another one soon and will probably get banned myself eventually), that free speech at Kos is an Orwellian concept. The cult-like herd mentality of the average Kossack also gets full display.
