
The judges apparently thought the artist had submitted two entries and chose the bottom "sculpture". Problem is, that "sculpture" is the support piece for the laughing head. You can just see it in the top photo, in the crease.
And the art world wonders why regular folk scoff at them...

That was a cool story - I guess the people judging the art competition were "minimalists".
