TechCrunch Says Money Changes Everything
TechCrunch is getting some flak for perceived hypocrisy linked to its new layout, which includs prominent advertising space.  While anywhere else this wouldn't be a problem, TechCrunch has, in the past, expressed disdain for advertising:
"Revenue generation from advertising isn’t and won’t be the primary goal of this site because the value of TechCrunch isn’t in page views, but in networking (I agree with Dave Winer almost entirely on this)."
techcrunch.jpgAdam Kalsey points out that only a few months ago TechCrunch was less than impressed with Zoho: "You’re perceived as second on everything. Features seem to be copies of everyone else."  The tone changed now that Zoho is a sponsor: "Zoho has quietly put together one of the best and one of the fastest Ajax office suites."

Thanks to Chartreuse for pointing this one out.
