The Wall Street Journal had an article last week about data centers - those storage places for the internet's data - needing vast amounts of electricity. I suggested that they turn the defunct aluminum smelters into data centers, solving everyone's problems.
Lo and behold, what do I read on Digg? Google is putting a data center in at The Dalles, Oregon, right on the Columbia and next to a huge hydroelectric dam.
Great minds thinks alike!
