A-List Gossip: Mike Arrington Takes His Ball and Goes Home
It is perpetually amusing the way grade school behavior plays itself out on the blogosphere.  Mike Arrington, a regular on the Gillmor Gang podcast quit because Steve Gillmor invited Nick Carr to appear "whenever he wanted to".

Mike's reasoning is a little specious - he doesn't like Nick because he is cruel to those who can't protect themselves and Mike does "associate with people who are mean to others."

Nick's point of view is that he'd never met Mike before and he seemed a little floored, "Don't worry, Mike, I won't accept any future invitations to be on the show. The last thing I want is to become known as the Yoko Ono of the Gillmor Gang."

Jason Calcanis is a little dumbfounded by the brouhaha.  "I thought for sure this would turn into an Arrington v. Calacanis match, but Nick stole my thunder. I think I'm losing my edge."

I'm not completely sure, but apparently what Mike really objects to is being called "the madam of the great Web 2.0 brothel TechCrunch."  I hardly find that cruel - amusing, yes, and if I were on the receiving end I'd find it a hoot.  Unless, of course, it were true...
