It is once again Blog Tipping Day, started by KMM brother blogger Easton Ellsworth. Captain's Quarters
1. I love the masthead and the quote "Thus every Blogger, in his kind, Is bit by Him that comes behind." And obvious literary reference that is over my head.
2. The cartoon, Day by Day, at the top of the page is a nice touch.
3. Captain Ed's mix of political with personal posts is nice - readers relate to him as a real person.
Tip: The navigation at the top left is off-kilter and the color doesn't really go with the rest of the website.
The Volokh Conspiracy
1. This blog often tries to put events in a larger perspective, which makes me think.
2. There is a full contact list with full names for each of the contributors to the blog. Sad that I find that so noteworthy...
3. The blog reaches out to everyone by allowing visitors to receive posts by email as well as subscribe to the RSS feed.
Tip: The colors are a little clashing and I'd love to see a different layout - one that reflects the legal coverage you do.
The Obscure Store & Reading Room
1. Stories of the weird, unusual and stupid - what's not to love?
2. Each item is a snippet with a link to the original story - great brain candy between projects.
3. Cool masthead and subtle graphics evocative of 1800's advertising - very appropriate.
Tip: This is a hard one because there's nothing jarring about your site. How about adding AListReview to your blogroll? <grin>
