The machines are also eating us, our minds taste good to them, they consume us via carpal tunnel, geek neck, arthritic computing syndrome, computer screen optical burning syndrome, online delirium disorder, etc.
As the faux Technological Imperative ("if it can be made, it must be made") drives us onward toward our deserved doom, the machines will consume and convert more of nature, reality, the entire universe, into a mirror of itself.
