According to CNN, 25+ terrorists were just days away from hijacking US-bound planes from Britain and blowing them up. The plotters planned on using liquid explosives carried in carry-on luggage. As a result, passengers of all US-bound planes are prohibited from carrying liquids, as are passengers at all US and British airports.
This means no lattes and liquid toiletry items like hair gel and lotions. British passengers are also prohibited from flying with a key fob - the kind used for car security or to allow building access, as they can be used as bomb triggers.
