Say It Ain't So, Joe: The A-List on Lieberman's Loss

I had to dash out yesterday to trek to Seattle to give a workshop on basic blogging.  I was surprised when a topic of conversation before the workshop started was about the role blogs played in Lieberman's defeat.  The story is actually a boon for bloggers, in that it may encourage more people to read blogs.

Anil Dash talks about the black/white mentality of bloggers:
First, many of us are far too willing to criticize those who are actually largely in agreement with us. It's as if the opponent isn't the person who disagrees with me 100%, but rather the person who agrees with me 99%.
Many bloggers focus on that 1% disagreement and never even attempt to see the 99%.

Captain's Quarters points out that Lieberman's run as an independent could cost the Democrats the victory in November.

On the other hand, Powerline thinks that Lieberman could siphon off Republican votes for a win.

Me?  I see the whole race as a referendum on Bush's policy in Iraq and a precursor to the November elections.
