
Yahoo and IBM both have guidelines for their bloggers - no hard and fast rules. Microsoft goes with the mantra "Don't be stupid". The guidelines in effect cover:
Responsibility - the company tries to separate itself from the blogger and warns that lawsuits are the blogger's responsibility. The panelists admitted that their legal liability does exceed what they tell bloggers.- Respect for both the company and for co-workers, including letting your supervisor know of blogging.

- Allow for private or confidential feedback - feedback that won't be blogged about.
