
Jeff acknowledges that the US has a different environment for Sunday papers - there usually is not dedicated Sunday staff - but he wonders "whether the tradition of the fat Sunday read is in doubt here as well".
The Seattle Times/PI usually has interesting in-depth articles on Sunday, although my local paper (the Yakima Horrible-Repulsive) just has touchy-feely local stories, but I still read through them, drinking several cups of coffee and giving belly rubs to the dog occasionally.
Curling up with my laptop just doesn't evoke the same Sunday feeling for me. Perhaps our frantic, rushing world will indeed kill the Sunday paper ritual, and the Sunday paper along with it.

The Sunday paper is too much of a tradition on this side of the pond.
That said, I don't know if the Sunday "newspaper" is as much news as it is a weekly magainze printed on newsprint.
