Online Poker's Days Numbered in US?
In yet another example of how Congress needs to look long and hard at their priorities, right after they approve torture, they decide to ban online poker.  Apparently online poker is much worse than torture.

While huge site PokerStars says your money is currently safe and they don't plan to close down US accounts, three
British-based betting companies -- PartyGaming, 888.com and Sportingbet -- said they will cease accepting payments from U.S. players.

Once the bill is signed, the US Treasury Department will have 9 months to write regulations and rules.

royalflush.jpgNick Kisberg, owner of www.Cardschat.com, quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle:

"This will not end the industry; it will just evolve with new sites stepping up to replace the old ones," Kisberg said. "New third-party payment processes will come up. It might involve non-U.S. bank accounts or sending payment to someone in the U.K. There will be hundreds of ways around it."
