 When the metal detector goes off, officials only search "lower legs and upper body".  My first thought is: How long until a girl smuggles in a gun or knife. My second thought is: It has already happened. My third thought is: How horrible that we have to treat our children like prisoners, and even more disgusting is that if we don't, someone will get killed! |

I thought you might be interested to know that there is a new novel about school violence that goes deep into the psychology of the students. Not only does it address the fighting in a high school but also the home and street lives of these kids. The book is called Almost Columbine.
