Here's a goal for bloggers in 2007 - stop acting like you are still in high school. Steve Rubel comments on the Wired News article Best Blog Fights of 2006. For those who need a refresher on how to act like an adult:
When a business relationship goes sour, act professionally and don't take your story to the blogosphere. While we love it, it just adds fuel to the fire and neither of you come off looking good.- If you are going to report a rumour, make darn sure you say it is a rumour - don't report it as fact.
- If you do choose to call somebody out, make sure you are ready for the aftermath.
- If you get called out, you don't have to respond. Really.
- If you are Dave Winer, it is probably best just to say nothing at all.
