Alex Barnett points out that the regional encoding on DVDs encourages consumers to break the law. I ran into this problem when I bought a DVD here in the US of a Laibach. The DVD was encrypted for Europe only, so I've never watched the DVD. After reading Alex's post, however, I am going to take his advice and rip it to my computer. Problem solved.
Update: After reading this comment to Alex's post, I downloaded VideoLan Player. No problemo - I can now get my fill of NSK propagandizing.

Please do not consider my rant as advice for you - I am not encouraging anyone to break the law, merely pointing out the options for both law abiding people and those who don't want to abide by the law :-)
